Edit metadata for tourist destinations¶
This guide explains how to work with tourism information on editera.visitsweden.com.
Introduction¶
Here you can read about how to best fill in information about your tourist destination in the metadata editor. The better the information you fill in, the easier it will be for visitors to find and choose your tourist destination. Therefore, make sure you set aside enough time to fill in the information correctly and with good quality. For more information about the national API, support, and user management, go to https://corporate.visitsweden.com/nationellt-api/. For questions about the interface, API calls, and dialogue with other users, go to https://community.entryscape.com/.
General recommendations¶
- Fill in as many fields as possible. Even if some fields are optional, they can provide valuable information to visitors.
- Write clear and appealing descriptions that highlight what is unique about your destination.
- Be consistent in language and style.
- Use the search function in the upper right corner to find fields more quickly, especially in large forms with many fields.
- If you are unsure how to fill in a field, click on the field heading for an explanation.
- If your business has many international visitors, it is especially important to provide information in multiple languages using the language selector (see below).
- For locations that require GPS coordinates, use the map in the tool or obtain coordinates (WGS 84) from a reliable source.
- Save your work regularly by clicking the “Create” button at the bottom of the page.
- If you need to pause your work or want to cancel without saving, use the “Cancel” button.
- Update regularly, especially information that changes frequently, such as opening hours, prices, ratings, and reviews.
Permissions and sharing settings¶
In editera.visitsweden.com, a user can be either a group manager or a member of a project. The group manager can give other users permissions and make the project public. Members can edit the project's metadata and create and provide information about tourist destinations. However, members cannot publish information to the national API.
If you do not have access to the project you need, you must request access from the group manager (or admin) in your organization or contact Visit Sweden. Group managers can change permissions by going to the three-dot menu and selecting “Sharing settings.” Members can only publish or update individual tourist destinations.
Drafts and publishing¶
-
It is possible to describe a tourist destination without filling in all the mandatory fields. This entity can now be saved in draft mode to be described further at a later date.
-
Once the mandatory fields have been filled in, you can publish an individual destination so that it is included in the national API.
